Jul-03-10  percyblakeney: I still don't get why Grand Prix events like Nalchik and Jermuk never get their games uploaded. It's after all World Championship cycle tournaments with Hou, Kosintseva, Stefanova, Chiburdanidze etc, and events like the Dutch women's championship with an average rating of maybe 2200 has forum and games...
Jul-03-10  adair10: <percyblakeney> Good point. I assume cg is not aware of it.

Is this qualifying event for women championship like men's Grand Prix was?

acirce: People have tried to make chessgames.com aware, but it seems that they are just ignoring them. ( chessgames.com chessforum ) Weird.
Jul-03-10  Mr Snuffleupagus: Round 10:

Xu Yuhua vs Dzagnidze
Stefanova vs Kosintseva

Round 11:

Kosintseva vs Danielian
Dzagnidze vs Hou Yifan

Two Chinese for Nana in the last two rounds.

A draw with Stefanova and a win over Danielian is good for Tatiana to tie (Nana) or possibly to win the tournament. That is, if Nana's last two assignments be drawn.

Jul-04-10  percyblakeney: <Is this qualifying event for women championship like men's Grand Prix was?>

It's even more of a qualifying event since the winner gets a ten game title match instead of one of eight places in a candidates knockout. The three best results count, and since Kosintseva for some reason only will play three events she needs a good result also in her last tournament. Hou plays four events but hasn't done as well as expected this far.

The "traditional" knockout World Championship is supposed to be held later this year, and then GP winner and World Champion will play a title match in 2011.

Jul-04-10  adair10: Thank you <percyblakeney> I searched FIDE site and did not find current GP standing for women. Based on results in individual GP legs both Dzagnidze and Kosintseva have their chances of qualifying
Jul-05-10  Don Cossacks: Tatiana missed a win against Stefanova in round ten with 40...Qg4? instead of 40...Qc6 or 40...Qe6 should cement Black's victory. And in round 11 Tatiana blundered against Danielan with 25.Rc2?? and ended up her Queen trapped on Black's 26th move. But still a good runner-up finish to Nana Dzagnidze.

whiteshark: <BLarsen1967> Quite surprisingly, Nigel came up with 'just another gambit': Short vs T Kosintseva, 2011 and the result differs from your wishful thinking, too.

waustad: Today she beat the younger of the Muzy sisters. There was no chance of a double sister act today since Anna Muzychuk decided to play for Slovenia.

  wordfunph: happy birthday GM Tatiana!

<2011 First Hangzhou WGM Tournament: The Russian beauty Tatiana Kosintseva received a beautiful bouquet of roses from a stranger on the rest day. The bouquet consisted of roses in white, blue and red, the same colors as the Russian national flag. Unfortunately, Tatiana seemed influenced by the mysterious flowers, losing four games in a row in the second half of the event. She finally ended a disappointing 9th place with only 3.0/9.>

Really??? :) That was an April Fool's joke by one of the Polish websites, afaik. She never mentioned it to me, and I don't see her in the transfers: http://ratings.fide.com/fedchange.p...
