Krum Georgiev was awarded the Grandmaster title in 1988. His tournament results included equal first at Athens 1983, second ex aequo at Albena 1985 and joint third at Pleven 1987. Georgiev played in six Olympiads for Bulgaria (1980, 1986-92 and 2000).
