  Dionysius1: I'm not getting at people who use the American style of "drawing" "drew" etc without the preposition "against", but it is causing me harmless amusement.

To me "drawing MVL and Karjakin" in the context of a swiss tournament means getting their name as opponents in particular rounds. Nearly every time on this thread it's completely unclear whether this is what people mean, or "drawing against MVL and Karjakin" as in scoring half a point against each.
