Jan-14-08   WTHarvey: She picked up a whopping 22 rating points to a personal best in the last quarter of 2007. Here's a little collection of crucial positions from her games: http://www.wtharvey.com/dani.html
Jan-01-09   nescio: I doubt the games of the Groningen tournament (http://www.schaakstadgroningen.nl/i...) will be uploaded to this database, but this game is not to be missed. The tournament was won by Rotstein, Gagunashvili and Swinkels, but the game of the tournament was played by Elina Danielian in the 7th round against Rotstein.

After the opening she courageously sacrificed an exchange

with 18.Rc6 Nf6 19.Nc4 Bb7 20.Bf4, played extremely well thereafter and went on to obtain a winning position.

After 39...Qe6 for example

she might have pushed the d-pawn to the other side: 40.d5, 41 Nc4, 42.d6.

She was still quite allright with 40.Nf5 instead, but what then followed was very unfortunate. Probably due to the time trouble typical for the time control used (105 min for the game + 30 sec per move), she gradually let slip her advantage and a late attept to win regardless even cost her the draw.
