Of course we need photographic evidence.

Not what I'd wear, but what the heck?!

FIDE is a bit "off" of late.

Sally Simpson: A €100 fine for wearing sneakers to a FIDE event!

I checked out the FIDE dress code rules for female players.:

"The following is NOT acceptable for women:
sport’s sneakers, clacking shoes, any kind of jeans, any kind of inappropriate cloth (e.g. torn cloth or cloth with holes, unclean cloth), sport caps, sun glasses, revealing attire."

OK sneakers is mentioned. She could have taken them off and but then she would have got done for 'revealing attire' as in naked feet.

Dec-28-23  stone free or die: I guess Magnus gets yet another special FIDE exemption here:

Dec-28-23  stone free or die: Now, if ever there should be a €100 fine for a fashion violation!

<Generally, sneakers are allowed, but “sports sneakers” are not. The difference between the two is not clearly stated in the dress code.> (https://www.nytimes.com/2023/12/28/...)

I guess Magnus was wearing just "sneakers" as opposed to "sports sneakers"? Which is of course laughable, since the shoes Magnus wore were much more appropriate for playing sports than the shoes Anna-Maja wore. (The rules for men also ban sports sneakers.)

This was just abusive.

  Sally Simpson: Hi Fusilli,

Puma have sponsored Magnus to wear sneakers that he is not allowed to wear!
