SUNE BERG HANSEN

When Sune Berg Hansen (born 1971) won the 1998 Excelsior Cup in Gothenburg, he became Denmark's seventh grandmaster. He was first at Hamburg 1999 and qualified for the 2000 knockout FIDE World Championship, but lost the first-round match to Andrei Kharlov. He is an accomplished chess coach and a four-time Danish champion (2002, 2005, 2006 and 2007).

Hansen, who is currently studying economics in Copenhagen, is also a noted poker player.
