Mar-12-06   Dennis Plott: I believe he just won the under 20 championship of Russia.

notyetagm: <DCP23: GM Boris Grachev (aka Guenplen on Playchess) remains on 100% with 4 points out of 4 games played, and a perfomance rating of 3263, the official site tells us. Of course that figure is next to useless with a 100% result but still -- impressive.>

At the 2009 Russian Team Championship.

We know everything about him :) Depends on what do you want to hear.

He is a GM, currently rated 2652 which makes him #75 in the World and #19 in Russia.

Born on March 27, 1986, in Moscow. His dad taught him chess when he was 4. He became World Champion under 10 in 1995, and that tourney (held in Brasil) earned him an FM title. He was 9 years old.

He is Russian Champion under 10, under 16, under 18, and under 20.

He plays on Playchess as 'guenplen'.
He is considered one of the very best in the world at ultra-fast time controls, such as 1+0. Many other GMs, including famous blitz specialists, often ask him for advice on some finer points of Internet blitzing, such as what mouse should they use etc.

He is 6'3" tall, which makes him 2" shorter than Kramnik ;)

Anything else you would like to know?

Jun-08-09   Troller: Yes, congrats to Boris. Maybe he will be better known a year from now if he continues climbing up the ratings list.
