AdrianP: <who> <there doesn't seem to be anything special about him> I understand that it's random.
Aug-11-04   cuendillar: <there doesn't seem to be anything special about him> Maybe all inerresting players have already became player of the day and they don't want to repeat themselves too much.

Joshka: He won the 3rd round of the US Championship yesterday, in a great game!...just replayed it quickly, he had to defend what seems like a crushing attack. The only player now with 3 straight wins.

dakgootje: Imagine that he sits at a kitchen table with a mug of coffee and a newspaper in front of him in the same clothes, face expression and almost-closed eyes...Would almost think he was just rolled out of his bed, stumbled downstairs in his pyjamas without looking in some kind to see whether his hair sits nicely or whether he already shaved or that that was yesterday...or some day before...Now add the situation of the kitchen + newspaper + coffee with the situation he sits here...I think immediately about some kind of man who after a long week of working relaxs a little on saturday morning..:)

melianis: He seems like the only current GM to play Giuoco Piano with some frequency. Another thing, he exclusively opens with 1.e4 (369 games vs. 3 games), and responds almost always with 1...c5. Against 1.d4 ...Nf6 is the only move he has played in this database.

Mar-09-08   DarthStapler: I just visited the Connecticut State Open Championship and Kudrin was there, I saw him playing. I was standing only a few feet away from him.
Mar-09-08   MichAdams: You should have summoned the courage to ask to kiss his ring.
Sep-07-08   SleepyEye: Sergey seems to be a very nice person. I once got a draw off him in a simul. He congratulated me after the game and actually seemed to be sincere about it. Unfortunately, very unusual for a GM.
