<Woody> I'll think about it! I would like to, but sometimes I don't have much time to participate because of work and family stuff, so I tend to be a bit erratic in team games.

Open Defence: I can't understand how i've gone astray,
I should be sailing away on a liner.
I was knocked on my back on a dock at yang-tse,
It's a hell of a way to see china.

But i'm ready.
You must be crazy...
And you got no money...
And you're a liar...

My straits are dire from the wok into the fire,
I'd like to trust you but i've broken my rickshaw.
Sometimes there's no hope in, in chasing opium,
I'd like to love you but i'm not sure what's in your eyes, Mm, shanghai surprise.

Whatever you're saying, i want it anyway in
Been hanging 'round like a kid at your back door.
Oh, babe!
You could be kinder, and show me asia minor,
I'll let you love me, let you see what's here in my eyes, Shanghai surprise.

You must be crazy... crazy...
And you got no money... money...
And it seems like madness...

Back streets so crowded that no room to swing a cat,
I'd like to know you but you're acting so coolie.
I'm finding out pursued by evil looking dudes,
It's getting hot for me like tofu when it deep fries, Oh, shanghai surprise.

But, baby, you look like any common crook
That's hanging 'round in those real shady places.
Oh, baby!
While you assess me, why not try to impress me?
Step over here, let me see what's there in your eyes, Oh, shanghai surprise.

I don't understand how i got delayed,
I should be sailing today on a liner.
Was kicked in the ass on a dock at yang-tse,
It's no way for a man to see china.

But i'm ready.
You must be crazy... crazy...
And you got no money... money...
But you're a tryer...

My straits are dire from the wok into the fire,
I'd like to meet you but i've broken my chopstick.
Sometimes there's no hope in, in chasing promises,
I wanna love you though it could prove to be unwise,
Shanghai surprise.

Whatever you're saying, i want it anyway in
In hanging 'round for a ride on your rickshaw.
Oh, babe!
You may correct me, now that you've inspected me,
Come over here, let me feel you cut down to size,
Oh, shanghai surprise.

My straits are dire from the wok into the fire,
I'd like to know you but i'm not really social.
Sometimes it's no joke, can't cope with opium,
I'd like to love you but i'm not sure what's in your eyes, Shanghai surprise.

Shanghai surprise.

Shanghai surprise.

And you got no money...
But you're a tryer...

If you were forced to pick only ONE, would you pick <George Harrison> or <Curious George>?

MostlyAverageJoe: From Kibitzer's Café: <Ziggurat: <MAJ> <Well, I looked at all games with <b5!>, and it ain't there.> Pardon my ignorance, but how do you do that?>

Delayed response: I wrote a couple of scripts for searching the PGNs (downloaded from the CG's ZIP archives). Easy pattern matching (such as the clue #6 with 8 pawn moves) get me an answer in seconds; more complex are answered in a minute or two. The real problem still remains: one needs to ask the correct question that will lead to an answer.

Ziggurat: <MAJ> Thanks for your answer! That's quite ambitious (although I did write a script myself to generate all two-digit primes for one of the early questions, only to be beaten by <hesam7>). Still, the <!> annotation in <b5!> is not necessarily in the PGN file, is it?

  jessicafischerqueen: <edifice>

Hey I just posted a very very dynamic <French Defence> game that <Deffi> won with the black pieces.

It's in my forum-- take a look if you get a chance. It's well worth it.

There seems to be some "controversy" over the game, and the middle game is apparently "computer resistant" because there are pieces hanging en prise all over the place..

There is a Mexican journalist, from Jewish immigrant parents, named Jacobo Zabludovsky. Here's his bio at wikipedia.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacobo...

Maybe he has any relatinship to the cited players

Ziggurat: Thanks <syracrophy>. It's possible they are related, as according to Wikipedia, Jacobo Z.'s brother was born in Bialystok, where Aaron Z. lived.

Ragh: <Ziggurat> Your impressive list of 'untimely chess deaths' up there in your profile doesn't contain the names of following extremely talented players.

http://www.chathurangam.com/news/ap...

All these 5 chess prodigies died very young, in their early teens.

Ziggurat: Thanks <ragh>. I was not familiar with this tragedy. I put them up there under "unknown age" because I couldn't find this information in the article.

Ragh: <Ziggurat> I was able to get the players' ages and achievements from various sources:

Dasari Minu (11 y.o): <Minu was the winner of the under-10 Asian girls championship held at Bikaner in 2000.>

http://www.chessbase.com/columns/co...

<India's youngest GM Harikrishna said that he had often shared a room with Abhinav while on a tour. Though <Abhinav was about three years younger than Harikrishna>, they shared a lot of memories, having travelled together to various age group meets. Humpy, who was also part of the same Indian junior team, was badly shaken by the incident.>

http://www.hinduonnet.com/thehindu/...

Abhinav Mekala (11 y.o): <Tipped to be in line to succeed Harikrishna, Abhinav captured the imagination of the chess world by winning the Asian boys' under-10 title in Iran last year. This <11-year-old prodigy> was coached by Ramdas and Sivakumar and was always telling the local media his ambition was to become a Grandmaster. >

<The other players Sekhar, from Nalgonda district, Haricharan from Ongole and Maturi <Hema Madhuri, youngest at eight years of age>, were relative newcomers to the game.>

<For the <eight-year-old Haricharan> from Ongole the maiden trip for an event-cum-coaching assignment turned out to be his last. This boy who started playing chess only a few weeks ago was very keen to be coached by someone. >
